Arctic Oasis

Hospitality Rebrand, Booklet, Wayfinding,
Package Design, Web Design

A hypothetical rebrand of Arctic Bath, the unique floating hotel located in the heart of Swedish Lapland on the Lule River, draws its inspiration from the timber floating era.

My intention in rebranding this hotel is to raise its luxury and showcase the harmonious connection between the cold baths, architecture, and the Lule River; therefore, I renamed Arctic Bath to Arctic Oasis.

Personal Project Not Affiliated with Arctic Bath

Brand Mission:Dedicated to providing a secluded utopia where guests can escape the hustle of everyday life, immerse themselves in the restorative powers of nature, and rediscover inner balance and harmony by connecting from modern aesthetic and timber inspiration.

Logo:
The two different colors symbolize the river in varying conditions across seasons: blue represents the frozen river in winter, while green symbolizes the melting snow and the flowing water thereafter.

Color PaletteMy color inspiration draws from the seasonal shifts of the Lule River as a primary palette, complemented by secondary tones inspired by natural phenomena such as sunsets, sunrises, and the Northern Lights

Iconography & PatternVisualize the main building within a pattern that resembles a jam of floating timber in the river. This design can be zoomed in and adapted to various formats.

PostcardThrough the multiple graphic iterations of the systems. Each postcard serves as a memento, capturing unique moments that the guest can look back on and share.

PosterExpanding the system to a larger scale, the poster designs were informed by the postcards. In this process, I was able to add text and descriptions that highlighted the experiences available at the location, promoting the beauty of the hotel.

Lookbook
The lookbook introduces the hotel and its location. The transparency of the vellum jacket mimics the fog of the cold bath, while the circular frame is inspired by a top view of the main architecture.

Dimensions: 7”x11”
Page Count: 28 pages with 2 gate fold
Saddle Stich with vellum jacket
This book combines the graphic language I created with examples of experiences, ensuring readers understand the possibilities available to them. enriches their experience and allows them to reflect on their time at the hotel.

Touch pointThe primary materials used are wood for the door hanger, room keycard, and coaster, reflecting the architectural materials and inspiration behind the design.

The room keycard and coaster featuring the pattern of the main architecture, while the cardholder and activities handout use classic laid paper texture to mimic the wooden stick texture found in the architecture. Additionally, acrylic and wood keychains are used for wellness lockers, featuring room numbers and cabin types.

Package Design
Redeisgn for Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and lip balm are all made into solid bars, offering convenience, portability, and reduced water content. They are contained in wooden cases, which aligns with the hotel’s core value of sustainability.

Spatial Design

Web Design
The website features a well-structured grid system that organizes complex information, including room reservations, activity bookings, and engaging storytelling about each location. This intuitive layout enhances usability by balancing functional details with captivating narratives, allowing users to easily navigate and connect with the unique experiences each destination offers.

Define MomentIn 12 weeks, I developed this project and learned how to create an animated web prototype using Figma. Throughout the process, I created multiple graphic iterations, allowing me to experiment and explore the project's potential regarding scale and interconnectedness.
